11th May 2007 Update - PGE and RS Merge

Fri 11th 2007f May 2007 - 08:03:40 AM

The Project Goldeneye team would like to announce a new partnership with the Resurrection Studios team

What this means is PGE now has all the resources it requires to complete PGE to the standards the PGE team expect.

As you have probably noted, its very quiet here and in our forums. I can only assure you that for the past 2 months, my team has been hard at work on new maps, new player models and new textures for the weapons. and the PGE team now stands at 9 active members, and a pool of 40 members we can use if needed.

Who are Resurrection Studios?

To date RS have released several Postal 2 mods to the community, some which have hit the top 20 on the moddb site. RS has a current collection of 6 mod teams working on mod projects for the postal engine, the unreal engine and plans for projects on future engines already on the drawing board.

In all RS is THE place to be if you want to make it in the mod community. RS is where all the new talent is going, and RS is where all the new decent mods are going to come from.

So what does this mean for PGE?

Well I still run PGE as the project lead and lead coder. Most of my commited team are back in place and are working hard on completing, and a few new faces have appeared from the RS team to help out where we were short on skills.

PGE has managed to pull itself back from the ashes (yet again) and is back in business.

During the end of our development cycle, the PR coverage will begin to increase, this is indicative of how close we are to a release. when you start seeing these media releases, you should get excited ;)

18th March 2006 Release

Sat 18th 2006f March 2006 - 07:03:18 PM

Project Goldeneye are releasing the Alpha Version of their modification today.
What is an alpha?
An alpha release is basically the modification with lots of parts missing (unfinished), but it allows you to give a sample of what your trying to acchieve.

If your expecting to play an out the box game, i recommend you wait for the beta release.

Whats the purpose of this release then?

Project Goldeneye is finding it difficult to continue, the resources for this modification are limited and progression is going very slow In order to keep Project Goldeneye going, its important to gain public interest in this mod. Without which the team feels theyre working for nothing, and the mod stagnates.

This is the first public release as a coder i have ever done, and i hope it works first time. I hope you see the vision of what Project Goldeneye is about with this release.

I am particularly interested in seeing if the multiplayer online support works (and although its too much of an alpha to play properly) it will show me that the fundamental net code is still working.

Ok i got to get stuff sorted. The download link will be on the site shortly and also will be http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=516559
